Bulldog Banter Volume #4

Another episode of Zoe telling you half-good advice!

Hey guys! Welcome back to another volume of the Bulldog Banter. First of all, thank you all for submitting your absolutely wonderful problems, I am happy that I am able to provide another article again so soon. We have had some… interesting submissions to say the least, so now, let’s get to the advice!

Hi Zoe. Sometimes, I feel not swag. How do I always feel swag, like you?

I know it can be hard to feel as swag as I am, but here’s the secret. Swagness is a state of mind, not a real thing. People may think you are swag based on your actions, but the only way you can feel swag is by thinking you are swag. I’ve developed a very strong and probably too big self-esteem, and that’s all you need to do.

So I’ve liked a girl for a good year or so and we are like best friends. We do some really sweet things from each other and it’s so hard not to catch feelings and I feel like it’s more than a really good friendship. I don’t think she sees me as partner material. Help. I’ve tried to show her that I like her but it’s hard. Advice?

It can be really hard to tell the difference between a really good friendship and feelings. I always imagine being with that person closely to see if what I am feeling is real, if you want to really check. If you do, then a good way to approach it is ripping off the bandaid. If you are worried about ruining this friendship you have, just remember two things. One, they might feel the same way about you that you do, and two, good friendships can survive something like this. I have good friendships where one of us has liked the other and even though the feelings aren’t returned we are still really good friends. Being brave is really the key.

I know a guy who has a crush on me for a while, but I really just considered him a close friend. I don’t want to hurt his feelings because he is really nice but things are kinda awkward and I really just want to be friends.

This is another situation where communication is really what you need to do. Like I mentioned in the above advice, a lot of good friendships survive one-way love. It’s sometimes easy to drift apart when there is a little bit of awkwardness, but in my experience, it is always better to try to discuss why you feel the way you do.

Alright, bet. I need help with an itsy bitsy teeny weeny little problem. I’m writing a song for my uncle, but I can’t come up with anything. Halp

I’m not sure the exact circumstances, but I find that when trying to come up with material for writing, whatever it may be, a poem, a story, or a song, a random word generator can be helpful for finding a subject.
