Sicily’s Book Corner

Sicily Weitz, Writer

Welcome back to the 2nd article for Sicily’s Book Corner, where I compare Amazon’s rating of books with my own opinion! I hope you enjoy these reviews.

Iron Prince, (Warformed: Stormweaver Book 1)

Author(s): Bryce O’Conner and Luke Chmilenko

4.8 stars out of 5. I think that the book should get 5 stars. I really like the inventive story and characters. Now, before I get on with the review, you should know that this book is incredibly long, so if you don’t like really long books then maybe this isn’t for you. Despite how long the book is, I never felt bored and I was always excited for the next part. I love the mix of magic and technology in this book. Usually in a book magic and technology are opposites and they don’t go together, but that’s not the case in this book. I also like how it feels like you’re reading a Sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure book all at the same time.

Artemis Fowl, (Artemis Fowl Book 1)

Author: Eoin Colfer

4.6 stars out of 5. I think this book definitely deserves a 4.6 star rating. I really like how the main character is a villain and not a hero. The book keeps you guessing the entire time whether you should be rooting for Artemis or not. And as you slowly learn more about Artemis’s backstory, you can’t help but feel bad for him. Throughout the entire book you just keep getting amazed by Artemis’s genius, and you can’t help but wonder if he’s going to get caught.

Spy School, (Spy School Book 1)

Author: Stuart Gibbs

4.7 stars out of 5. I think this book definitely deserves a 4.7 star rating. As you can probably guess by the title, this is a spy book. Now, I can understand that your parents might be hesitant for you to read it because it’s a spy book, and spy books are usually for a more mature audience, but you don’t have to worry about all of that in this book. It’s 100% a lighthearted, humorous spy book. Unlike most spy books the main character isn’t a great spy in terms of physical prowess, in fact, if we just measured how good a spy is in terms of physical prowess, Ben would be the worst spy ever. However, what he lacks in physical prowess, he makes up for in mental strength. Ben is super smart, and that’s why he’s a great spy.
