This soccer season has been a memorable one. We’ve had much of our season lost due to a snow storm that left all fields unplayable for two weeks! We also had an epic flu season that wiped out our team, so we haven’t played a game with a complete team yet this season. Despite those challenges, we’ve managed to play four matches so far.

vs. College Place (L 3-1)

vs. Heatherwood (D 2-2)

Our most recent game was played on 12/8, after not being able to play on a field for over 1.5 weeks. The team was eager to play and was up to the challenge of playing another tough opponent that defeated Meadowdale 2 to 0. The Bulldogs had some big plays starting with the precise passing from Isabel Han aka Izzy, Bella Dreitzler aka UCLA, and Lorelai aka Ally’s little sister. Lorelai connected with Izzy for the first goal from a sweet passing combo that left the defenders dazed and confused. A few minutes later, UCLA made a great run, dribbling past several defenders and taking aim at the back of the net for the second goal. The Bulldogs went into the half up 2-0. The second half was controlled by the Bulldogs for the first 20 minutes, before things fell apart for the Bulldog’s Defense. 2 minutes after clearing the bench to rest the starters, the Bulldogs gave up a goal to Heatherwood’s fast forward, then shortly after that she scored again by speeding past the defense. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, which is BTMS’s second draw. The Bulldogs only have 1 lost so far this season. 

vs. Explorer (W 8-1)

Our 3rd match was an away match against Explorer Middle School. The Bulldogs were finally able to put it all together in game 3. They were playing and firing on all cylinders, overpowering their opponent with speed, skill, and aggression. We were able to create several scoring opportunities and rarely had Explorer cross the midline. When they finally did, we had a questionable penalty called in the box and gave up a PK kick. We won 8 to 1. With goals coming from Isabel aka UCLA (3 goals), Lorelai Baumann (2 goals), Emma Schmidt (1 goal), Marissa Swan (1 goal),  and Addison Keopraseurt (1 goal). Assists by Emma (1), Isabel D. (1), Lorelai (1), La’akea aka Ikea (1), Aaliyah Lee (1), and Addison Keopraseurt (2). 

vs. Harbour Pointe (D 0-0)

Our second match was against Harbour Pointe. We battled hard all game, but couldn’t score despite having several corner kicks and shots. We were missing a few key contributor like Isabel Han and Isabella Dreitzler. Aaliyah Lee, Abigail Schmicker, and Bella Fedyurina really stepped on defense for us. Addisson Keopraseurt did really good job holding down the midfield and Emma Schmidt was fantastic on the attack. Your Brier-Terrace Bulldogs finished with a solid Draw in this one.

vs. Meadowdale (L 0-3)

We started our season with a tough Meadowdale opponent. We were still getting our footing with positions and formation and managed to concede 3 goals off of 3 shots in the first half. We made a few key changes, which included having Kira George play goalkeeper. She lead us to a second half shutout, but couldn’t find the back of the net and lost 0-3.
