Two-Way Hallways

The student perspective
Two-Way Hallways

Two-way hallways That is the question. One of the pros of two-way hallways is getting to class easier and faster. It also means no more detentions for taking the fast, sensible way. This means that you might be able to talk to your friends for a bit longer before heading to class. Cons: well two in hallways people are going both ways so people are bound to bump into each other and conflict might break out but everything will be alright. Let’s be real even though this article is being written there is most likely no chance that they are going to change the hallway rule but you know maybe there’s that chance that they will change the rule.

One of the students I interviewed thought that two-way hallways would be a lot more convenient and help students get to class faster. They thought the cons might get crowded and people might start shoving.  The second student said the same thing as the first but whatever. I eventually found someone who didn’t want two way hallways, that person will remain nameless. This student didn’t want a two-way hallway because they might run into people. They also talked about how they would feel uncomfortable in the new hallway arrangement.

I interviewed a staff member who was around when they had two-way hallways and this is why they said that they disliked two-way hallways. They said that when Brier Terrace had two-way hallways the hallways were chaotic and students said that they felt unsafe in the hallways. They also said that the pros are that it will be much more efficient and have a faster route to class. They say that the cons of two-way hallways are probably the proximity and the overall craziness. The second Staff member that I interviewed said that they didn’t want two-way hallways because “it can cause more confusion, although it can be convenient for students it can also be disruptive and cause more fights and stop the flow to classes and could cause kids to not get to class on time.”

The last person that I interviewed was the president of Brier Terrace, guess What he said, He said that he didn’t want two way hallway because he felt like it’ll be too chaotic and then there’ll be too many fights, “boohoo” some of the pros of two way hallways is people would get to class on time and be happy some of the cons of two way hallway might be people not follow the two-way hallway Rule and they might like fight each other.

I can see a theme here and it is that people don’t like the idea of people going both ways and just having overall chaos like that so maybe we could make it kinda like a road where people are going separate ways separated in the middle. Still, I can just imagine what kinds of things would happen like tripping, shoving, and pushing. The purpose of writing this article is to give you an idea of what it would be kinda like to have two way hallways because who knows maybe people will change things. It is not up to me it’s not even up to you it’s actually up to the school and I don’t think that they will change it.
