Chapter 2 

                                                                                      Objective Learning 

Ice King leaves the room to find a letter on the ground from the oldest elemental sand. She was the first and only sand elemental. That’s right she’s been alive since the elementals were born. Ice King picks the letter up and opens it. 

It reads Dear Ice King, I need you to find the elementals, at least enough to fight the shadows from distant lands. Yes, they have indeed returned the reports saying that there are a lot of corrupted creatures spread across the land and if you come across any of them while you gather some elementals then please take them down. When you’re done gathering them come to The Element House so we can attack the leading general.

“Hmm interesting,” says the ice king.

“What’s interesting?” Says a familiar voice behind Ice King. He turns around and sees Glimmer and Ice Queen entering the castle. 

“Oh nothing sweetie,” says Ice King as Glimmer runs over and hugs Ice King. “Ice queen, can we talk?” says the ice king.

“Sure,” says the ice queen. As she walks, the ice king lets go of Glimmer as she gives him a sad look.

“Ice queen, I got a letter from Sandy,” says Ice King. 

“Why? What’s wrong? ” says Ice Queen. 

“The shadows from distant lands are……back and she wants me to gather elementals to the element house so we can plan to attack where the general is,” says Ice King. 

“Ok should we tell Glimmer?” says the ice queen.

“Yes, she’s at the age where she can train to take my spot one day,” says Ice King.

“Are you sure she’s still so young? ” says Ice Queen. 

“She’s not training now Honey, I am just saying in a couple of years she will train,” says Ice King.

“Okay let’s tell her, ” says the ice queen.

“Glimmer, I have something to tell you,” says Ice King. 

“Okay, what’s going on?” says Glimmer.

“I have to leave to stop the eternal darkness that’s from the books I read you as a kid,” says Ice King.   

“ Oh, does that mean you’re leaving me behind again? Says Glimmer as her eyes start to widen a little.

Ice King says “You must stay and train and that means you need to be…. 

Patient? You want me to be patient! I have been waiting so long just to go on ONE! ELEMENTAL MISSION!….but…..you say I am so weak Says Glimmer. 

“GLIMMER STOP! Calm down okay? Says the ice king.

“It’s fine I will just leave you alone,” says Glimmer as she runs to her room.

“GLIMMER!……wait” Ice King proclaimed.

“Honey just Stop okay you should leave to do your job okay” says Ice Queen.

“Sigh Your right, I shall leave, but not for too long okay? Says the Ice King as he walks away to his room. He grabs his supplies and starts to walk out but sees a picture. A picture of when Glimmer was younger. She was so happy that all that filled the king’s mind. But he had a mission so he put the picture aside and left the room in a hurry. He kisses Ice Queen opens the door and looks inside one last time before he leaves and sees Glimmer’s door creaking open and sees Glimmer peek out.

He Waves goodbye shuts the door and leaves for his mission. He looks upon the horizon and sees all the places he must go. He summons his ice horse and rides into that horizon.
